Governance & Partners
NACEL is commissioned and managed under contract by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) on behalf of NHS England and the Welsh Government. The audit is delivered by NHS Benchmarking Network and governed by a steering group which meets 2-4 times a year.
Additional consultation is sought from the NACEL Advisory Group, who assist the NACEL Steering Group with specific areas of NACEL design, development and delivery, and a Bereaved Persons’ Focus Group. The groups have been instrumental in designing the content of the NACEL elements.
You can read more about the NACEL governance via the Steering Group Terms of Reference. Further information can be found in the Audit Organogram showcasing the project management and governance structure.
The NACEL Steering Group Members
The NACEL is overseen by a Steering Group of 44 representatives. The Steering Group meet regularly to discuss the audit, its scope and its development. The NACEL Steering Group has the authority to sign off the audit elements, recommendations, and the National Reports.
